Improving Cause of Death Reporting and EDRS

Timely and proper completion of the cause of death section of the death certificate is an important responsibility with a significant impact. Death certificates are used for many things, from families using it to handle the final business of the decedent, to providing mortality statistics at a national and jurisdictional level. Mortality data reporting has an impact on the allocation of research and development funding, and helps to establish goals related to public health.
